The 2011 Savannah Bulldogs 11 and under recently completed another exciting year of little league baseball. The team traveled to tournaments across Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. Team members for the Savannah Bulldogs are John Thorpe, Kyle Hilton, Jackson Finley, James Maudlin, Jarrett Brown, Garrison Gunby, Win Johns, Cameron Crosby, Josh Reddy, and Chandler Moore. The coaches are Ed Johns, Bubba Hilton, Bubba Gunby, and Brian Thorpe.
Last seasons’ second year 10 and under Bulldogs had many exciting accomplishments. Among those were in Jacksonville, FL and posted a 4-1 record finishing up as the Florida Georgia February Freeze Runner Ups. In Lexington, SC they won the USSSA Gameday Sports March Mayhem Championship with a 4-0 record. In Atlanta, GA the Bulldogs finished with a 5-0 record winning the Triple Crown March Madness Championship. In Stockbridge, GA finished as runner ups in the Darrin McGahey NIT with a 3-1 record. In Savannah, GA placed second in the Triple Crown Showdown in Savannah posting a 4-1 record.
They then traveled back to Jacksonville, FL and went 5-0 en route to becoming the Jacksonville Florida Georgia Summer Slam Champions. The Bulldogs also played in several 12 and under tournaments placing at least third in all of them. Their two best finished in 12 and under were in Brunswick, GA at the Peach State Sports Team Appreciation Runner Ups and finished runner ups in Lexington, SC Summer Sizzler.
The most exciting trip of the season for the Bulldogs was traveling down to Disney’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando, FL and playing in the AAU Summer Nationals. They played teams from Florida, Louisiana, Texas, California, and Georgia. Not only did they post a winning record, the losses were very close games against teams that finished in the top five of the tournament. The most exciting win was over one of the top teams out of California in the bottom of the sixth inning!
The end of the summer season concluded in Charleston, SC, at the SC Global World Series hosted by Gameday Sports. The Savannah Bulldogs won the World Series and posted a perfect 6-0 record. They outscored their opponents 78-14 over the week long tournament!
They are excited about the upcoming 2012 season where they will enter into the 11 and under age classification and look forward to the challenge.
We are having a fund raiser golf tournament on March 3rd, 2012 at the Southbridge Golf Course. Please help these young men on behalf of the Savannah Bulldogs in their efforts for another exciting baseball season.

The 2012 Savannah Bulldogs are coming off of a great season last year. We would truly like to thank our sponsors from last year. This year we are moving up to U’11 level and looking forward to it. We understand that times are tight due to the economy, but we really would appreciate any donation you could help us out with our team goals which is to play elite tournament baseball. Your names will be placed on our team banner, which we will proudly take with us as we travel to many tournaments the upcoming season in Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida. We thank you for your donations and more importantly, the boys thank you too!
